Hot Spiced Wine #1
Ingredients List
- 4 c Water
- 1 c Sugar
- 12 Whole cloves
- 6 Whole allspice
- 4 Sticks (1-inch) cinnamon
- 1/2 ts Powdered ginger
- 1 Orange; rind of
- 1 Lemon; rind of
- 2 c Strained orange juice
- 1 c Strained lemon juice
- 1 Bottle (750-ml) Burgundy or
- -Claret wine
Directions
In a saucepan combine water, sugar, spices and citrus rinds. Bring to a
boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, remove from
heat and let stand for 1 hour. Strain and add fruit juices and wine. Yield:
12 to 16 servings.
