Apple-Spice Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients List
- 2 tbsp old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 pink lady, gala or fiji apple; cored, peeled and chopped into large pieces
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- â…› tsp ground nutmeg
- a pinch of sea salt (like a tiny pinch...not the pinch measurement, that would be too much)
- 1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
- pure maple syrup to taste (I used 2½ tsp)
Directions
== For the Warm Breakfast Drink ==
In a high speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth.
Transfer to a microwave safe mug, and microwave until warm; about 1½ minutes.
== For the Breakfast Smoothie ==
In a bowl of hot water, soak oats and set aside until the remaining ingredients have been prepared and added to a high speed blender.
Drain oatmeal well, and add it to the blender with the rest of the ingredients.
Blend until smooth
In a high speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth.
