Ingredients List
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 4 cups cubed French bread
- 3-4 ripe bananas
- Optional: walnuts, raisins, chocolate chips
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Brush a 9x5 inch baking loaf pan with butter.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix eggs, milk, butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until smooth. If using walnuts or raisins add them in now. Add the bread and bananas, and let rest 5 minutes for the bread to soak. Pour into prepared pan.
3. Line a roasting pan with a damp kitchen cloth. Place loaf pan on the cloth inside the roasting pan. Fill roasting pan with water to reach halfway up the sides of the loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven for 1 1/4 hr, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
