Bechamel Sauce Recipe

Ingredients List
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups HOT milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- fresh ground pepper , to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Directions
Begin by melting the butter over medium-low heat.
Once melted, whisk in the flour; whisk until all lumps have disappeared and the mixture turns a light brown color, about 5 minutes.
Add the hot milk, a little bit at a time, and continue to whisk until smooth; bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes, stirring constantly, or until sauce is thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir in salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Set aside until ready to use.
