Black Bean Burgers
Ingredients List
- 3 cn Black beans; rinsed and
- -drained
- 2/3 c Onion; finely chopped
- 1/4 c Red bell pepper; finely
- -chopped
- 1 tb Jalapeno pepper; finely
- -chopped
- 1 ts Ground cumin
- 3 tb Sesame seeds; roasted
- 1 tb Lime juice
- 1 ts Salt
- 1/2 ts Peppr
- 2 tb Vegetable oil
Directions
In large bowl, mash beans until most are smooth, leaving some intact. Add
onion, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, cumin, sesame seeds, lime juice, salt
and pepper; mix well. Divide mixture into 8 equal patties about 3-1/2
inches in diameter. In large heavy frypan, heat oil over medium-low heat.
Cook patties, in batches, for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned, tuning
once and adding more oil if necessary. Carefully remove burgers from frypan
to platter and tent with foil. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Makes 8 burgers.
