Bombay Rice Pilaf

 Ingredients List

  • 2 1/2 c Water
  • 2 pk Instant chicken-flavored
  • -broth mix
  • 1 tb Lemon juice; fresh, not
  • -bottled
  • 1 tb Margarine
  • 1 sm Bay leaf
  • 1/4 c Plus
  • 2 tb Golden raisins (Sultanas)
  • 6 oz Uncooked brown rice


Combine all ingredients EXCEPT RICE in a 3 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil
over med-high heat. Stir in rice; reduce heat to low, cover & simmer until
all liquid is absorbed, 50-60 minutes. (Check after 45-50 minutes; add
boiling water if rice seems too dry). Remove & discard bay leaf before
