Ingredients List
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into tablespoons
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
Place butter in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until butter begins to foam. Continue cooking until brown specks begin to form at the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and pour into a large mixing bowl and allow to cool.
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Line with parchment paper so that the paper overhangs on two opposite sides.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, and salt. Set aside.
Add brown sugar to cooled butter in mixing bowl. Beat until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
Gradually add flour mixture, mixing just until combined.
Transfer batter to prepared pan. Bake 30-35 minutes, or until a pick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely in pan. Then, using the overhanging parchment, lift out the brownies onto a cutting board. Cut into bars.
