- 1 c Pillsbury's Best All-Purpose
- -Flour*, sifted
- 1/4 c Confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 c Butter
- 1/4 c Pillsbury's Best All-Purpose
- -Flour*
- 3/4 c Sugar
- 1/2 ts Double-acting baking powder
- 1/4 ts Salt
- 2 Eggs; slightly beaten
- 1/2 c Maraschino cherries; finely
- -cut
- 1/2 c Coconut
- 1/2 c Funsten's Walnuts; chopped
Directions
BAKE at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then for 30 to 40 minutes. MAKES 3
dozen. Sift together the 1 cup flour with the confectioners' sugar. Cut n
butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture firmly into
ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 10
minutes. Sift together into mixing bowl 1/4 cup flour, sugar, baking
powder, and salt. Add eggs. Stir in maraschino cherries, coconut, and
walnuts. Spread over partially-baked mixture. Bake in moderate oven (350
degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. *For use with Pillsbury's
Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
