Cheddar Cheese Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients List
- 2 cups Gold Medal UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour , plus flour for kneading bleached flour toughens baked goods
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/4 cup snipped chives
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup dry instant milk granules
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup plus 1 tbsp. water
- 2 tbsp. butter melted
Directions
Mix flour, chives, cheese, baking powder, dry milk, sugar and salt.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender until well blended.
Add water and stir just until moistened.
Knead biscuit dough on a floured surface until smooth—about 5 minutes.
Shape into a rectangle and cut in 12 pieces.
Place in greased cookie sheet.
Brush with melted butter.
Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until done.
Brush with butter again before serving.
