Chicken Parmesan bake

 Ingredients List

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • hot red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (I used 5, but they were huge!)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped basil
  • 8 oz mozzarella, shredded
  • 4 oz Parmesan, grated
  • 1 (5-oz) package garlic croutons

 Directions

My new favorite recipe! It's lower in fat, takes about 10 minutes to put together and it's simply delicious! Who can ask for anything else?

Directions:

In a casserole dish mix the olive oil with the garlic and spread the pepper flakes evenly on top.
Place the chicken breasts on top of the olive oil-garlic mixture.
Place the marinara sauce/tomato sauce on top, and spread about a quarter cup of fresh basil leaves on top.
Cover with half of the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
On top of the cheese goes the garlic croutons, and then the rest of the cheeses gets spread out evenly on top.
Cook for 35min to an hour (depending on the size of the chicken breasts), testing with a thermometer to make sure it gets to 155 degrees F.
Allow the chicken to rest for 10 minutes before serving!
