Cranberry Cake with Butter Cream Sauce

Ingredients List
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups whole fresh cranberries
- 1 cup milk
- 3 Tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons sour cream
- Butter Cream Sauce:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly spray an 8 inch square pan and set aside.
2. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
3. Add cranberries, milk, vanilla, sour cream and melted butter and mix well.
4. Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
5. For the sauce: melt the butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Add sugar and cream and bring to a boil, cook for 1 minute.
6. Serve warm butter cream sauce over slices of cake.
