  • Recipe Submitted by on

 Ingredients List

  • Equipment
  • Slow Cooker
  • Large skillet
  • Ingredients
  • 2 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
  • 3-4 lb pork loin
  • 2 apples peeled, cored and quartered
  • 2 onions quartered
  • 3 Tbs corn starch

Heat the vegetable oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.

Mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt & pepper in a small bowl.

Whisk together the chicken stock, soy sauce and apple cider vinegar.

Rub the pork loin with the mixed seasoning, and brown on all sides.

Add the onions and apples to the crockpot, add the browned pork loin on top.

Pour in the stock, soy sauce & apple cider vinegar, place the lid on the crockpot and cook for 8 hours on low.

Remove pork loin and apples/onions from the crockpot.

Allow to rest for 10 minutes, then slice.

Serve with the onions, apples, and gravy.

Remove all but 2 cups of liquid. In ½ cup of the removed liquid, whisk in the cornstarch until smooth. Whisk back into the crockpot, and heat on high for 15 minutes.

Whisk constantly until thickened.

Remove 2 cups of liquid and add 1 ½ cups to a small saucepan, heating over medium-high heat.

In the remaining ½ cup of the liquid, whisk in the cornstarch until smooth, then add to the saucepan, whisking until thickened.
