Cut (Schnitzel) Beans

 Ingredients List

  • 1 1/2 qt String beans
  • 2 tb Bacon, smoked, diced
  • 1 tb Butter
  • 3 Onion, large, sliced
  • 4 Med Tomato, chopped
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1 ds Red pepper
  • 1 c Water, hot

 Directions

Cut string beans in small pieces. Fry the bacon until crisp and brown, add
the other ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Add the hot water and continue
cooking 2 hours longer, adding more water if necessary. Source:
