Date Loaf Candy

 Ingredients List

  • 3 c Sugar
  • 1 tb Butter
  • 1 c Milk
  • 1 pk (8-oz) dates; chopped
  • 2 c Broken pecans

 Directions

Combine sugar, milk & dates. Cook over medium heat & stir almost constantly
until mixture reaches soft ball stage (234 degrees). (This soft ball will
not roll off your finger.) Remove from heat & stir in butter & pecans &
beat until very thick & creamy. Pour onto a damp cloth (not a terry cloth)
& roll up & shape into a long roll. Leave rolled up in cloth until cool &
firm. Unroll & slice.
