Easter Egg Nest Treats

Category: Dinner Party, Kids, Gifts, Holiday, Desserts

 Ingredients List

  • 1 12oz bag chocolate chips
  • 1 11oz bag butterscotch chips
  • 1 12oz bag chow mein noodles
  • 1 bag egg shaped candy (we like the Cadbury mini chocolate eggs)

 Directions

Get yourself ready! Lay out wax or parchment paper on your counter top or table, where ever you will be setting the cookies to cool. Open the bags of noodles and candy, and lay out two forks for scooping the cookies out of the pot. You may also want to enlist the help of a buddy for the shaping and decorating.

Pour both bags of chips into a big pot.

Stirring continuously, melt the chips over medium heat. It the chips get too hot they will scorch or burn and ruin the whole batch.

Once they are completely melted, lower the heat and stir in the entire bag of noodles. Stir until they are thoroughly coated with the melted chips.

Move your pot to your wax or parchment paper covered surface.

Moving quickly, use the two forks to pull out little glops of the chocolate noodle mixture and set them on the wax/parchment paper. I try to get about a 2 inch diameter glop, give or take.

Try to shape them into a fairly circular shape and top them with 2 or 3 candies. This is where you may want to have a buddy to help. Have them shape and top while you continue to scoop out cookies. The chocolate does have a tendency to cool off rather quickly.
You should easily make about 3-4 dozen treats. Fewer if you make your cookies larger.
