Empanadas #1

 Ingredients List

  • 3 Pie crust sticks (comes 2
  • -to a box) or favorite pie
  • -crust recipe
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tb Oil
  • 1 md Onion; finely chopped
  • 1 Green pepper; finely chopped
  • 1 ts Capers
  • 10 Stuffed green olives;
  • -chopped
  • 1 lg Ripe tomato; finely
  • -chopped
  • 1 pn Oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Hot sauce #3 (see recipe)


Make pie crust dough according to directions on package and chill while
preparing meat mixture. Brown meat in oil. Add the other ingredients
(except hot sauce) and simmer for 1/2 hour. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick
on a slightly floured board and cut with round cookie cutter. On each round
of dough, put 1/2 teaspoon of filling. Fold over and flute edges with a
damp fork. Fry in hot grease until golden brown. Drain and serve hot with
Hot Sauce.

Well worth the effort! May be made and then frozen.
