Ingredients List
- 4 To 5
- 1 1/2 tb Butter
- 1 ts Sugar
- 2 Cloves garlic
- 1/4 c Orange juice
- 1 c Water -- I like all O.J
- Fennel plants
Directions
1. Wash and clean the fennel plants. 2. Cut off the tops and bottoms and
discard. 3. Slice the fennel into quarters. 3. Melt butter, sugar and
garlic in skillet [we use an electric wok with a non-stick surface]. 4. Put
the fennel in the skillet and cook until golden brown. 5. Add orange juice,
water, and a little salt and pepper. 6. Simmer for 20 minutes until the
fennel is fork tender (if fennel is not tender enough, add a little juice
or water) [personally, I like to cook the liquid down to a nice, thick
sauce]. That's it! We had ours with pasta and pesto sauce, string beans and
fresh fruit.
