Fish Curry

 Ingredients List

  • 1/2 kg Seer fish or mullet
  • 1/2 Coconut; grated
  • 100 g Onions; chopped fine
  • 2 ts Chilli powder; (10 g)
  • 1 ts Curry powder; (5 g)
  • 2 Green chillies; slit
  • -lengthwise
  • A stem of lemon grass
  • 1 tb Garlic paste; (15 g)
  • 2 Cm cinnamon
  • 1/4 ts Turmeric powder; (1 g)
  • A few sprigs curry leaves
  • Salt to taste


WASH, clean and cut the fish into neat pieces. Grind the grated coconut
with enough water to extract one cup thick and one cup thin coconut milk.
Put the fish in a pan. Add all the remaining ingredients, except the thick
coconut milk, and cook over high heat till done. Add the thick coconut milk
and simmer till done and the gravy is thick.

For a variation, prepare the curry without chilli powder and curry powder.
And you will have white curry.

Serve hot with rice.
