Foot Long Coney Dogs

  • 6 Long hot dogs (each about
  • 12 inches)
  • 1 tb Margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 cn (15 oz.) chili with beans
  • 6 Long hot dog buns, split
  • 3/4 c Shredded Cheddar cheese
  • (3 ounces)
  • 1 lg Onion, chopped ( 1 cup), if
  • -desired

 Directions

Brush grill rack with vegetable oil. Heat coals or gas grill.

Make crosswise diagonal cuts 1/2 inch apart and 1/4 inch deep in each hot
dog. Grill hot dogs uncovered 4 to 5 inches from medium heat 15 to 20
minutes, turning frequently and brushing occasionally with margarine, until
hot and slashes begin to open.
