  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • â…› teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Yeast (Instant Yeast) {*see note below}
  • â…“ cup Warm Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Oil (olive or vegetable)

  • For the Garlic Dough Balls
  • Pizza Dough
  • 10 Garlic Cloves, grated or minced finely
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon mixed Herbs (optional)
  • a pinch of salt (* only if using unsalted butter)

  • Note - YEAST
  • If using Active Dry yeast, make sure the mixture of yeast bubbles up when you mix it with warm water. This process is called "activating" the yeast

For the Dough (skip if using store bought dough)

In warm water, mix sugar & instant yeast & let it rest for 2 minutes
Mix all purpose flour & salt
Add oil & the water mixture to the flour
Knead for 10 minutes by hand (or 6-7 minutes with electric mixer) to form a smooth & elastic dough
Place the ball of dough in a well oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or moist kitchen towel & let it rise for 1 hour or till it doubles in volume.
Then punch down the dough and use as required
For the Garlic Dough Balls

Cut the pizza dough into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a log.
Roll each piece into a log and cut into tiny pillows
Roll each piece between your palms to form small balls of dough. Place the balls in a well greased baking pan at least ¼ of an inch apart from each other.
Cover the baking pan & let it rest for 20-25 minutes. The balls will have puffed up
Meanwhile, mix grated garlic with melted butter. AND preheat your oven to 200C/400F
Brush all the balls with the garlic butter (if any garlic pieces are left behind, place them on any of the balls). If you like, sprinkle your favorite herb on top of the balls
Bake them at 200 C for 20 minutes or until the balls are golden brown and fully cooked through.
Serve hot with any sauce of your choice or with some kind of soup for a whole meal.

You can make the Pizza dough at home using my simple recipe OR you can buy it from your local stores. If you”™re using frozen dough, make sure to thaw it overnight and let it rise at a warm spot for 30 minutes before using it.
