Gingerbread Poke Cake

Ingredients List
- 18.25 ounce spice cake mix
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/3 cup oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 8 ounces Cool Whip
- Optional:
- caramel sauce to drizzle on top
- ground cinnamon for dusting on top
Directions
Mix together the cake mix, buttermilk, molasses, oil, eggs, and ginger to form cake batter.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes in a 9x13 baking dish.
Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes throughout the cake.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, aiming to fill the holes.
Cover and chill cake for 3-4 hours.
When cake is chilled, spread the Cool Whip over top. Drizzle with caramel sauce and dust with cinnamon. Cover and keep chilled until ready to serve.
