Gingersnaps

 Ingredients List

  • 1 c Sugar
  • 3/4 c Shortening; softened
  • 1/4 c Molasses
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 c All-purpose flour
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/2 ts Cinnamon
  • 1/2 ts Ginger
  • 1/4 ts Cloves

 Directions

Lightly grease (not oil) cookie sheets. In a large bowl, combine first 4
ingredients; blend well. Stir in remaining ingredients; blend well. Chill
dough fir easier handling. Heat ovento 375. Shape dough in 1 inch balls;
roll balls in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet. Bake at
375 for 8-10 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 1-2 minutes before
removing from cookie sheets.

NOTES : I usually chill for about 3-4 hours.
