Hawaiian Lau Lau's

 Ingredients List

  • 1 pk (10 oz) frozen leaf spinach,
  • -thawed, drained
  • 1 1/2 lb Pork OR chicken, cut in
  • -bite-size pcs
  • 1 1/2 lb Boneless white fish, cut in
  • -bite-size pcs
  • 1 ts MSG, optional *
  • 2 tb Seasoned salt
  • 1 Cube butter or margarine,
  • -melted


Cut foil into 6" pieces. Sprinkle MSG and seasoned salt over meat. Pour
melted butter over fish. On each piece of foil place a piece of meat, fish,
and a pinch of spinach. Fold over foil to form an envelope and seal. Place
steaming plate into Hitachi Food Steamer and pour in 1/2 cup water. Arrange
foil packages on top of steaming plate. Cover and cook until chime rings.
Serve hot, allowing each guest to unwrap his/her own lau laus. Time 15-20
minutes. MARY'S NOTES * I DON'T USE MSG!!! It causes an allergic reaction
for many people. GRILL These can also be placed on the outside edges of
your Weber grill and allowed to cook for 20-30 minutes (covered), while
