  • 3/4 ts Dried Oregano

  • 3/4 ts Dried Tarragon
  • 1 c Water
  • 3 c Flour; All-Purpose, Or Bread
  • -Flour
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1 1/2 ts Sugar
  • 1 1/2 ts Yeast

 Directions

FOR 1 POUND
3 tb Butter; Or Margarine
2 tb Finely Chopped Onion
1 Clove Garlic; Medium
1/2 ts Dried Oregano
1/2 ts Dried Basil
1/2 ts Dried Tarragon
3/4 c Water; Warmed
2 c Flour; All-Purpose, Or Bread
-Flour
1 ts Salt
1 ts Sugar
1 1/2 ts Yeast

1. In a small skillet, melt the butter. Add onion, garlic, and herbs. Sauté
over medium heat until onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Cool to room
temperature.

2. Place all ingredients, including onion mixture, in bread pan, select
Dough setting and press Start.

3. When the dough has risen long enough, the machine will beep. Turn off
bread machine, remove bread pan, and turn out dough onto a lightly floured
countertop or cutting board.

4. Gently roll and stretch dough into an 18 inch rope. Grease a 12 cup
muffin tin, a 9x13x2 inch pan or a large baking sheet.

For 1 1/2 pound Dough With a sharp knife, divide dough into 18 pieces.
(Hint - first cut dough into 6 equal pieces, then cut each of those into
three pieces.)

For 1 pound Dough With a sharp knife, divide dough into 12 pieces.

5. Roll dough into balls; place in prepared pan. Cover and let rise in a
warm oven 30 - 45 minutes until doubles. (Hint - to warm oven slightly,
turn oven on Warm setting for 1 minute, then turn it off, and place covered
dough in oven to rise. Remove from oven to preheat.)

6. Preheat oven to 400. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from
oven and serve warm.

NOTES : Linda's Notes - When adding ingredients to bread pan this is my
order - Onion mixture, salt, sugar, flour, yeast then water. Make sure
that your salt and yeast are not together (salt can inhibit yeast action).
I don't do the rising in the oven - I prepare and cover dough and set on
top of stove (with the oven warmed underneath). These rolls are really
nice!!!!!!
