Ingredients List
- 4 cups of white flour
- 2 cups of wheat flour (you could go all white, or go half white/half wheat- I wanted to add *a little* more whole grain & fiber to my mix)
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 tablespoons of baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
Directions
Basically just whisk all of this together and then store in an airtight container until you are ready to make a batch of waffles! Easy, peasy. :)
When you are ready to make waffles, just measure out about 2 cups of the mix into a medium bowl. Pour in 1 3/4 cups of milk, 1/2 cup canola oil, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract and then mix well. I found that this recipe makes about 4 good sized round Belgian waffles.
Feel free to experiment with different stir-ins, like chocolate chips (my son's personal favorite), shredded coconut, chopped pecans, or a combination of any of the above. Also this waffle mix batter would be the perfect base for my Strawberry Cheesecake Waffles. ;)
Homemade Belgian Waffle Mix is so much more cheery in a fun container! I actually picked up this plastic storage container at my local dollar store for you guessed it... a buck! I printed out the label and then bordered it with some fun washi tape. :)
