Island Burgers (South Africa)

 Ingredients List

  • 1 packet ROYCO Hawaiian Chicken dry Cook In Sauce
  • 600 g mince
  • ½ cup oats rolled
  • 1 egg
  • 5 ml salt for seasoning
  • 5 ml pepper for seasoning
  • 10 ml oil for frying
  • 1 can pineapple rings
  • 4 burger rolls

 Directions

1.Mix mince with the rolled oats, add the egg & season with salt and pepper.
2.Shape mixture into 4 burger patties & fry in hot oil or braai over coals.
3.Drain the can of pineapple, keep the juice, & grill the rings.
4.Prepare sauce by whisking together 200 ml warmed reserved pineapple juice, 50 ml of water & ROYCO Cook In Sauce .
5.Place a burger and pineapple ring into each hamburger roll & top with the tangy sauce.

Tip: These burgers are delicious; ostrich mince can be used instead of beef mince.
