Kentucky Buttermilk Biscuits

 Ingredients List

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1⁄2 tsp baking powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup butter
  • 3⁄4 cup buttermilk

 Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in buttermilk. 3.Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2 minutes. Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet, roll into a 6 x 6 inch square, and cut into 12 even sections. Do not separate.
4. Bake for 15 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Separate biscuits and serve hot.
