Ingredients List
- 2½ Baby Back Ribs (cut into 6 to 8 pieces)
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 1 cup ketchup
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- ⅓ cup orange juice
- ⅓ cup cider vinegar
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce
- 1 teaspoon stone ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon liquid smoke
- Dash of salt
- 5 teaspoons water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Directions
Rub the ribs with the Cajun seasoning.
Layer the ribs and onion slices in the slow cooker.
In a medium bowl mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, orange juice, vinegar and molasses. Then add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, barbeque sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and liquid smoke.
Pour the mixture over the ribs. Cook on low for 5½ to 6½ hours or until meat is tender.
Remove the ribs to a platter and keep warm. Skim the fat off the juices and transfer to a small sauce pan. Combine the cornstarch and water until smooth and add it to the juice, cooking until it thickens; for about 2 minutes to form gravy.
Serve the gravy over the ribs and mashed potatoes
