Meatball Parmesan Spaghetti

Ingredients List
- FOR THE MEATBALLS:
- 1 pound ground beef (and/or pork or veal)
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (and/or basil) (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
- FOR THE MEATBALL PARMESAN:
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
- 8 ounces pasta
Directions
FOR THE MEATBALLS:
Mix everything, form into 1-2 tablespoon balls and either pan fry in oil over medium-heat until browned on all sides, about 2-4 minutes per side OR roast in a preheated 350F/180C oven until lightly golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
FOR THE MEATBALL PARMESAN:
Spread the marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking pan, top with the meatballs, sprinkle on the cheese and bake in a preheated 350F/180C oven until the sides are bubbling, the cheese has melted and turns a light golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile cook the pasta as directed on the package.
Serve the meatball parmesan on the pasta and enjoy!
