Mint Swirl Brownies

Ingredients List
- 3 oz Cream cheese -- softened
- 1/4 c Margarine -- softened
- 1/2 c Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2/3 c All-purpose flour
- 1/2 ts Baking powder
- 1/4 ts Salt
- 1/3 c Chopped nuts
- 1 Unsweetened baking chocolate
- Squares -- melted and
- Cooled
- 1/2 ts Peppermint extract
- Green food coloring

- 1 Unsweetened baking chocolate

- 1 tb Margarine
- 1 c Powdered sugar -- sifted
- 1/2 ts Vanilla
- 2 tb Boiling water
- Chocolate Glaze-----
Directions
Cream together cream cheese, butter, and sugar; beat in eggs. Stir
together flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Spoon
half of the batter into another bowl; stir in nuts and chocolate. Drop
chocolate batter from tablespoon checkerboard fashion into greased
9x9x2-inch baking pan. To remaining batter, stir in extract and food
coloring. Spoon green batter into open spaces in baking pan. Swirl with
spatula to marble; do not overmix. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
Cool; pour Chocolate Glaze over top. Cut into bars. Chocolate Glaze: Melt
one 1-ounce square unsweetened chocolate and 1 tablespoon butter or
margarine over low heat; stir constantly. Remove from heat; stir in 1 cup
sifted powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla till crumbly. Blend in
enough boiling water (about 2 tablespoons) till of pouring consistency.
