Mr Food's Turkish Pilaf 12/1/95

 Ingredients List

  • 1/4 c Butter
  • 1 Medium-sized green bell
  • Pepper -- diced
  • 1 c Sliced mushrooms -- (about 2
  • 5 Ounces)
  • 1 1/2 c Tomato -- cubed
  • 1 c Rice -- whole or long-grain
  • 1 ts Garlic powder
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1/2 ts Black pepper
  • 1 Can(10 5oz)
  • 3/4 c Water
  • Chicken broth -- condensed

 Directions

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the green
pepper and mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes. Add the remaining
ingredients, stirring until blended. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat
to low. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes or until all the water has
evaporated.

Yield: 4-6 servings
