  • 1/2 lb Onion; thinly sliced(about 2
  • 2 tb Butter
  • 8 Eggs
  • 1 c Dry white wine
  • 2/3 c Heavy cream
  • 1 ts Salt,
  • 1/8 ts Pepper
  • 1/8 ts Nutmeg
  • 1/2 lb Grated Gruyere cheese; (abou


1- ea 9"pie crust Saute in butter till soft, remove from heat & set
aside. Combine eggs, wine, cream, salt, pepper & nutmeg. Spread 1 cup of
cheese on bottom of pastry shell, cover with onions and top with remaining
cheese. Pour cream mixture over cheese and onions. Bake 350 for 1 hour or
until knife >> inserted in center comes out clean. Serve chilled. FROM:
