Onions Almondine

 Ingredients List

  • 1/2 c Butter
  • 1/2 c Blanched; slivered almonds
  • 1 tb Dark brown sugar
  • 2 Cloves garlic; pressed
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Pepper
  • 1/4 c Dry white wine or sherry
  • 4 sm Dozen white onions; fresh or
  • -canned

 Directions

Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic,
seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake
at 350ø for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
