Peppermint Bark Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients List
- ½ stick butter butter
- 1 (10.5 oz) package miniature marshmallows
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ tsp peppermint extract
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup crushed candy canes
Directions
Butter a 13" x9" baking dish, or 8" x 8" if you like the thicker Rice Krispy treats like our picture above.
Melt butter over medium-low heat in a large heavy saucepan. Add marshmallows and salt and stir until marshmallows have melted. Remove from heat. Gently fold in Rice Krispies until cereal is completely coated.
Pour mixture into buttered baking dish, and spread evenly into pan.
Melt white chocolate chips in a small saucepan over medium low heat, stirring constantly until completely melted. Add peppermint extract. Evenly spread white chocolate over Rice Krispy Treats, and immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes over the white chocolate. Cover with plastic wrap and let cool in refrigerator until chocolate hardens. Cut into squares.
