Potato pancake recipe

 Ingredients List

  • 1 kilogram floury potatoes - mehlige Kartoffeln
  • 1 onion - Zwiebel
  • 3 eggs medium-sized - mittelgrosse Eier
  • 40 g (6 tablespoons) plain flour - Mehl
  • 1 teaspoon salt - Salz
  • 100 ml (1/2 cup) sunflower oil - Sonnenblumenöl

 Directions

1. Peel and wash the potatoes, peel the onion.
2. Grate the potatoes and onion into a bowl.
3. Add eggs and salt and mix well.
4. Heat a portion of the oil in a non-stick pan, drop 1 spoonful of the potato dough into the hot oil, flatten the dough with the spoon.
5. Add another spoonful for 1 or 2 more pancakes. If the dough merges carefully separate each Kartoffelpuffer.
6. Turn the pancakes over as soon as the edges turn brown. Cook them until they are golden brown.
7. When the Reibekuchen are finished, dab them dry on kitchen paper. Put them on a warm plate in the pre-heated oven to keep them warm until you finished with the rest of the pancakes.
