 Ingredients List

  • 1 lb Chicken breasts,
  • -lean pork, beef, or
  • -ham sliced thin
  • 3 Cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/2 Onion, minced
  • 2 ts Minced cilantro
  • 1 tb Brown sugar
  • The juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tb Nampla ("fish sauce")
  • 1 tb Vegetable oil

 Directions

Thread the meet onto 12-inch bamboo skewers, placing several strips on each
of the 16 skewers. Combine the garlic, onion, cilantro, brown sugar, lime
juice, nampla, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Pour over the skewers and
marinate for 1 hour. Heat barbecue coals until hot, or preheat a broiler.
Place the skewers on the grill or broiler rack and cook until done as
desired. Serve the satays with peanut butter sauce.

Makes 10-12 skewers.
