Savannah Red Rice

 Ingredients List

  • 1/4 lb Bacon
  • 1/2 c Chopped Onion
  • 2 c Raw Rice
  • 2 c Red Tomatoes
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Pepper
  • 1/8 ts Tabasco


Fry bacon until crips. Remove from pan & cook onions until tender in bacon
fat. Add rice, tomatoes, seasonings and bacon, crumbled. Cook over low
heat about 10 minutes. Pour into two-qt. casserole and cover tightly (can
use foil). Cook in 350-degree oven for one hour, stirring with fork a
couple of times. Serves 6-8 people.
