Slow Cooker Wheat Bread Stuffing

Ingredients List
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
- 3 cups celery, diced
- 8 cups crusty whole wheat bread, dried and cubed
- 3/4 t. kosher salt
- 1/2 t. black pepper
- 1 t. poultry seasoning
- 1 t. ground sage
- 1 cup low sodium chicken or vegetable broth
Directions
Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray.
In a large skillet over medium high heat melt the butter.
When the butter is melted add in the diced onion and celery and saute until tender.
In the slow cooker combine the diced bread salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and sage.
Add in the sauteed onion and celery and stir together.
Add in the chicken or vegetable broth and stir everything together.
Set the slow cooker to low, cover with the lid, and cook for 2-4 hours depending on the size and how fast your slow cooker cooks.
