Southern Country Gravy

 Ingredients List

  • 1 c Onions; diced
  • 3/4 ts Garlic; minced
  • 3 tb Oil (use the oil from frying
  • -the tofu)
  • 1/4 c Breading mixture left over
  • -from the main recipe, or
  • -unbleached flour
  • 1 1/2 ts Yeast, smoked
  • 5 ts Vogue Vegy Base
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/8 ts Black pepper
  • 1 c ;water

 Directions

Saute the onions and garlic in the oil for 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in the
breading mixture, yeast, soup base, salt and pepper and cook 3 to 4 minutes
longer.
Add half of the water, whisking it into the onion and flour mixture. When
it thickens, add the remaining water, whisking to a light consistency.
