Southwestern Beef and Beans
Ingredients List
- 1 lb Dried pinto beans
- 6 c Cold water
- 1/2 lb Salt pork -- cut up
- 1 lb Lean chuck steak -- cut into
- 1 " cubes
- 1 Red chili peppers or....
- 1/2 ts Crushed red pepper
- 1 Medium onions -- chopped
- 2 Cloves garlic -- minced
- 6 oz Tomato paste
- 1 1/2 tb Chili powder
- 1 ts Salt
- 1 ts Cumin seed
- 1/2 ts Marjoram
Directions
Soak beans in water overnight. Brown salt pork in skillet or slow-cooking
pot with browning unit. In slow-cooking pot, combine soaked beans (with
water), browned pork, and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for
9 to 10 hours.
