Spaghetti Sauce

 Ingredients List

  • 1/2 c Onion slices
  • 2 tb Olive oil
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 Garlic cloves; minced
  • 2 lb Canned tomatoes; 4 cups
  • 16 oz Canned tomato sauce; 2 cups
  • 3 oz Canned mushrooms; 2/3 cup
  • 1/4 c Parsley
  • 1 1/2 ts Oregano
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Thyme
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 c Water

 Directions

In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender. Add meat and
garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 2 to 2
1/2 hours or till sauce is thick; stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve
over hot spaghetti. Garnish with Parmesan cheese, if desired. NOTE: One
pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
