Sticky 'n' Gooey But Good Bars

Ingredients List

- 1 c All-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 ts Baking soda
- 1 c Quick-cooking rolled oats
- -(see not below)
- 3/4 c Brown sugar
- 1/2 c Butter, melted
- 1 c Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c Chopped nuts
- 24 Vanilla caramels
- 1 c Whipping cream
Directions
Preheat oven to 350øF. Combine flour, baking soda, rolled oats, brown
sugar and melted butter. Mix well. Press 1/2 of this mixture into a 13x9"
baking pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
Melt caramels with cream over low heat, stirring occasionally; pour over
chips and nuts. Sprinkle remaining oat mixture over top. Bake for 20
minutes. Yield: 3 to 4 dozen * If you substitute large-flake rolled
oats, chop by hand or in a food processor until texture of quick-cooking
