Super easy doughnuts

Ingredients List
- ¼ C warm water
- 2 packets (or 2 T) yeast
- â…“ C shortening
- ½ C sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t salt
- 1 ½ C warm milk
- 5 C flour
- oil for frying
Directions
Place the warm water in a large measuring cup. Sprinkle with yeast and allow to foam.
In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well
Add the salt, milk and yeast mixture, mixing until completely incorporated.
Slowly add the flour, a little at a time, until it is completely mixed in.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until it”™s smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
Place in a bowl and cover. Let set until double. Dough is ready when it is pressed and indentations remain.
Turn the dough back out onto a floured surface. Roll to about ½ inch thick. Cut doughnuts and place on a floured baking sheet. Cover and let sit 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed stock pot or deep frying pan to 350 degrees F.
Slide doughnuts into the hot oil, leaving room for them to move around the pan. Fry until golden brown, turning once during cooking.
Remove to paper toweling to cool enough to be able to handle them.
Decorate as desired.
Serve warm or room temperature.
