Ingredients List
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound ground pork
- ¾ cup whole wheat fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 2½ teaspoons salt (divided)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon pepper (divided)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups water
- ¾ cups sour cream
Directions
In a large bowl combine the ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, milk, dill, 2 teaspoons of salt, ⅛ teaspoon of pepper, and the Worcestershire sauce. (Hands work best for this) Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Pre-heat the oven to 350F.
Using about a heaping tablespoon of meat at a time for the meatballs, roll and place them on a baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. (Meatballs can be formed to any size you prefer.)
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until no longer pink inside.
In a large skillet using 1 tablespoon of fat from the meatballs, whisk in the flour, then add the paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, and ⅛ teaspoon pepper. Stir in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Boil and stir constantly for 1 minute.
Add the meatballs to the sauce and cook until meatballs are heated through, then add the sour cream stirring until smooth.
Serve hot over mashed potatoes or noodles.
