Ingredients List
- 12 sl White Bread Slices -- crusts
- Removed
- 3 tb Butter -- to spread on
- Bread
- 1/2 c Butter
- 1/2 lb Mushrooms
- 2 c Onions -- finely chopped
- 1 lb Italian Sausage
- 1 lb Cheddar Cheese -- grated
- 5 Whole Eggs
- 2 1/2 c Milk
- 1 ts Dry Mustard
- 3 ts Dijon Mustard
- 1 ts Nutmeg
- Salt And Pepper -- to taste
Directions
Butter bread, set aside.
Melt 1/2 cup butter, saute onions & mushrooms.
Grease 13 x 9 casserole. Layer 1/2 bread, mushrooms & onions, sausage, &
cheese.
Mix eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg, salt, & pepper. Pour over casserole,
cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
