 Ingredients List

  • 12 sl White Bread Slices -- crusts
  • Removed
  • 3 tb Butter -- to spread on
  • Bread
  • 1/2 c Butter
  • 1/2 lb Mushrooms
  • 2 c Onions -- finely chopped
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 lb Cheddar Cheese -- grated
  • 5 Whole Eggs
  • 2 1/2 c Milk
  • 1 ts Dry Mustard
  • 3 ts Dijon Mustard
  • 1 ts Nutmeg
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste

 Directions

Butter bread, set aside.

Melt 1/2 cup butter, saute onions & mushrooms.

Grease 13 x 9 casserole. Layer 1/2 bread, mushrooms & onions, sausage, &
cheese.

Mix eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg, salt, & pepper. Pour over casserole,
cover and refrigerate overnight.

Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
