Transylvanian Stew

 Ingredients List

  • 6 Cloves garlic
  • 1 lg Onion.
  • 3 tb Paprika (preferably Szego)
  • 1 tb Hot paprika
  • -
  • -
  • 2 lb Chicken (amount not
  • -critical)
  • 2 Chicken boullion cubes
  • -(optional)
  • 2 lb Sauerkraut
  • 4 Potatoes peeled and chunked
  • -(raw)
  • -(or more paprika + a shot
  • -of tabasco or
  • -other heat)


Chop garlic and onion.
PAM and heat stew pot, add garlic and then onion.
Add paprika
When onions cooked, add chicken (1-2 lbs)

Add juice from Sauerkraut and enough water to mostly
cover the chicken (2 cups)

After simmering for 20 minutes, pull out chicken &
remove bones. (Alternatively use boneless chicken or
turkey) Add boullion cubes
Add sauerkraut & potatoes
Cook for another hour or two.
