Ingredients List
- Large Pretzel Sticks
- 8 c. Kelloggs Rice Krispies
- 1 Bag Mini Marshmallows
- 4 T. Butter
- White Candy Coating
Directions
1. Make the leg bones:
Attach 2 small marshmallows to the end of a pretzel stick with cookie frosting. Let that dry on wax paper.
Melt the white candy coating (use package directions) and dip the rods to cover. Don't bother dipping the ends that you are holding...that is going to be covered up anyways. Lay them onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper to dry.
2. Make the rice krispie treats:
While waiting for the pretzel sticks to dry, make the rice krispie treats parts. I made 2 batches and it covered 27 "turkey legs".
Let it cool for a minute or two. Then, spray your hands with buttery spray so you can work with your rice krispies.
Grab a handful of rice krispie mixture and place it on the pretzel stick. Make sure to place it on the end without the marshmallow on it. ;)
Grab a little bit more and cover the other side of the "leg" so the pretzel is covered. Place it onto wax paper and mold it to the pretzel rod. As the rice krispies continue to cool you can press and mold it even more. This way it will be nice and firm around the pretzel.
Once they have completely cooled you can remove them from the wax paper and place them in any serving dish you prefer.
I don't think these "turkey" legs are limited to Thanksgiving day. Make them just for fun and because they're so delicious!!
