Wheat Waffles

 Ingredients List

  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 c Milk
  • 1/3 c Vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c Orange juice
  • 1 c Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tb Sugar
  • 1 ts (to 1-1/2 tsp) grated orange
  • -peel
  • 1 ts Baking powder
  • 1/4 ts Salt


In a small mixing bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form; set
aside. In another small mixing bowl, beat egg yolk, milk, oil and orange
juice. Combine flour, sugar, orange peel, baking powder and salt; stir into
milk mixture. Fold in egg white. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according
to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.

YIELD: 5 waffles (6-1/2 inches)
